The wallpaper I chose for the kitchen didn't turn out very kitchen-y, so I tried to make a bedroom instead. Next time I do this I think I'll paste over the partition on the top.

The faulty white balance is there to annoy those who like their white balance balanced.

I've given up on the lost packages, though I still hate the inconsistencies of international shipping.

There's also this thing with releases coinciding with Golden Week. The earliest things will get processed will be Thursday next week, which means things get shipped to me early next next week, which is a terribly inconvenient time to get packages.

Also, buying shokugan from exclusive shops means you pay twice/thrice the SRP. Add another thousand yen for the middleman.

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother.

I didn't make the ganache; I just rolled bits of it in matcha. And I still have some powder left over. As is always the case with gorging on good things: I think I'll lay off matcha for a while.

P.S. On the figures side: I officially lost two packages in the mail, so that's exactly four sets of minis.

Should've reduced the milk.

I saw a cute photo of toast with egg in the middle and wanted to do something like that, but I didn't have a round cutter, and the jar lid I used just squished the muffin in the middle. Meh.

Also, I've started a short photo project inspired by the 365 Toys project at Flickr. There's someone who's been taking one photo a day of her nendoroid Sebastian Michaelis, which is so adorable. I thought I'd do a mini version of that project, thus: L 20 (at Tumblr). I haven't really used L that much since I got him, so maybe this'll be a good time to start.

Actually it didn't taste like a disaster at all, even with all the improvisations I did.
The blender throwing up a hefty amount of it all over my arm was a disaster though.
Hot soup = ouch.

I've always wondered what this looks like unwrapped,

so I opened it.

Fiddled with the moving panel in the living room to make it look like it was cemented over half-assedly, then decorated with weird things like a gigantic fishing rod and some rope for hanging. It makes zero sense and therefore is despair-inducing, which is why I love it.

I didn't post this back then because the "wall" on the left side moved a bit.

I want to talk about L and why his neck peg placement is ingenious and silly at the same time, but now is not the time for that.

Which reminds me, I also have to find a new carrying case for him, something bigger than the one I use for sensei, because the chair is quite bulky.

And it's such a relief to have a figure that can actually sit down.

I think these are lost in the mail:

unless they magically turn up at the post office in the middle of the year or something. I used to have problems with the HK post, but now it's the USPS. This is annoying because I need that sack of flour.

As for other things I "need" (a short list because my want list is too horribly long to post):

And look at this set coming out in May (info c/o electrikbarbarella@flickr):

A lot of that can actually come in handy, minus the bears. I hope those bears are detachable. They're cute though.

Today I'd like to talk about one of two Ls from this set.
Please excuse the lighting.

I love coffee, and I think I have good coffee karma: every time I've stocked up on new bags, that's when somebody sends me a lot more coffee. At the moment there are around six bags of beans waiting to be brewed! It's such an overwhelming, happy thing.

This made me very very very happy today.
I didn't think it was possible to love him more than I already do!
He looks like he's wearing a dress, but this is actually just the top. His legs were too stubby for the trousers.

Today I got these in the mail. I'll be getting literally cartons of eggs in a few months, but now I think I can do with these just fine. There is also one small bottle of vanilla extract that I forgot to add. The whisk is a good choice, but I also got an electric handheld mixer just in case.

Actually I think I have everything covered except that I don't have an oven.

There have been quite a lot of additions to the stash, mostly outdoorsy stuff. I've been hunting for green felt for a backdrop but couldn't find a nice shade to work with.

The High Tea set is so much love! I think this might be a bit better than Orcara, though the latter also has good sets. Good thing these are very hard to get from outside HK.
